El próximo 16 y 17 de junio la ciudad de los Parques será testigo de la conferencia musical más grande de cumbias de todo el país, el Cumbias Music Conference.
Con el objetivo de que Bucaramanga se posicione como epicentro de las cumbias en Latinoamérica, llega el primer Cumbias Music Conference, un encuentro artístico, cultural y académico, de carácter internacional, para dialogar sobre la cumbia como una construcción social que une a todo un continente.
El CMC que es organizado por la Alcaldía de Bucaramanga y el Instituto Municipal de Cultura y Turismo, se realizará en el Teatro Santander, cuna de la cultura y el arte de ‘La Bonita’.
Este género musical es elemento identitario de los barrios populares de la ciudad, por lo tanto en esta versión se hará énfasis en ellos. Así como en esclarecer que no solo existe un único tipo de cumbia.

Durante los días del evento habrán numerosas actividades que contarán con invitados nacionales e internacionales expertos en el tema.
El público podrá disfrutrar de las presentaciones de:
- Ricardo ‘Richi’ Oviedo y la Popular Style (Cumbia local-Bucaramanga).
- Enkelé (Cumbia y baile cantao – Bucaramanga).
- Cumbia Stars (Cumbia tropical-Colombia).
- Afrosound (Cumbia psicodélica-Colombia).
- Ginebra (Cumbia local-Bucaramanga).
- Los Kombolocos (Cumbia regia-México).
- Yeison Landero (Cumbia sabanera-Colombia).
